Export success sees Pritchitt win award for a second time
Dairy expert Pritchitts has won the prestigious Northern Ireland "Fit for Market" Exporter of the Year Award 2007 at this year's Food from Britain Exporter of the Year Awards. Held at The Landmark Hotel, London, on Wednesday 19th December, the annual awards aim to reward and recognise companies for succeeding in the international market. It is the second time Pritchitts has won the award, having also taken the title in 2004.
Pritchitts was praised by judges for having identified an opportunity for a range of functional creams in various export markets, for establishing a successful strategy to enter and grow the business, and for its comprehensive plan to build on this success as part of its overall vision of its international business.
John Day, Head of Export, comments: "We are delighted to have won this award as we have worked extremely hard in developing a successful proposition for our value added dairy products. From understanding the complexities of the market and the needs of different caterers, researching and developing the right products, working closely with distributors, and ultimately, communicating the offering effectively, we've ensured every element of the product offering has been addressed."
Pritchitts is the UK foodservice division of Irish dairy co-operative Lakeland Dairies and has one of the largest portfolios of extended life and long life dairy products, from butter, cream and milk-powders through to the market leading dairy cream alternatives Millac Gold and Roselle Supreme.
Offering value for money, especially in light of increasing commodity prices which are sending the costs of conventional dairy soaring, Pritchitts' comprehensive range ensures consistency and ease of use.
Going forward, Pritchitts plans to build on its success in export markets by investing further in technically trained personnel to ensure the product offering remains relevant and ahead of the competition.
John continues: "We are confident that even against a backdrop of increasing competition from local dairies, zero export dairy refunds and an unfavourable exchange rate, we will continue to have success in supplying functional creams to our targeted export markets."
